Disecting a Starfish

Ok we had intended on starting out smaller with the lupper grasshoper which we received however no instructions!

Blaze & Lulu located bones, tube feet, mouth, anus and anual bags, stomach the circular thing on the top side that helps the tube feet with water/movement. We found the stomach however if you do to much disecting the stomach and anus get a little confusing they look alot alike so try and locate them first off when you get the middle section open. We learned that starfish regenerate their limbs when broken off and also some star fish have been found with as many as 25 arms (rays)!

It cracked open alot easier then with the scissors!

Make your own Play Dough

1 cup water
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp cream of tarter
1 T oil
Food coloring as desired

cook unitl thick, store in an airtight container.

we added orange gatorade for coloring since we didnt have anything else!
