War/Jihad Against Food Wastage

In today's world, where so many wake up in poverty and go to sleep hungry, each of us must ask: "How can I help?" It is a sin to waste food while others do not have enough to eat. The food we waste in America every year can feed 49 million people per year.

In the Haney household we do not waste food, dad came home the other day thinking onions were growing in our yard, we laughed and said no we threw them out there for the small animals instead of them rotting in the gargabe!

In Morocco they save even the smallest partly eaten peice of bread for the next meal. We try our best to incoporate a no wasting food policey in our family as much as possible, when we have left overs we share them with our neighbors instead of them potentially going bad because we made to much! Our parakets get some older fruit and left over veggies and we are always happy to donate our extra pantry goods!

Weather

Blaze is learning about thunderstorms and how to be safe and not scared. Oklahoma weather has made him take an interest in looking up the weather online www.noaa.org . We now have daily weather cards we purchased at the Sapulpa dollar store and he can be our family weatherman!

France & the Eiffel Tower

France is in Europe.

Blaze wants you to know the Eiffel Tower is in his James Bond Video Game that he loves to play with daddy. The Eiffel tower is one of the 7 wonders of the world. Do you know the others? Blaze says he would take the elevator to the top! Mom was to lazy and didn't want to wait in the long line when she visited Paris, also mommy is afraid of heights!

Paris is named after Paris and made "Thats Hot" popular. " We love that show" Blaze says "Oh its so funny!"

"Army French Soliders in World War One". Last night we watched a documentary on World War One.

Blaze may add a scene of his army men later on, he says for that war he would have to get ALL of his army guys out.

The Story Madeline about the little French Girl who goes to a Boarding School is also Blaze's cousins Name!

Blaze has no interest in the Cathedral of Notre Dame, but he thinks the Louve is pretty nice. Mommy says the guards at the Louve are very nice and its neat to see artists painting their versions of famous art. Be careful on the city buses you can get robbed easy!

Fere Jacques is a new song he can sing to his baby sister Sahara!

Blaze created a book of thumbalina. "Oh it was kind of funny, she was kidnapped by the froggy, then ah she quickly fell into a stream and then the fish cut off the vine then she went to live under the ground with the mouse and other guy a mean mole, he said Im gonna bite ya" "she rescued a bird, fixed its wing then the bird saved her, and then she lived in a prince's house.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Blaze loved this story! The optional activity was to create your own ending, he loved doing that!
Blaze's ending:
The army men came to save him, and they cam with tanks and a bunch of explosive stuff to blow up the big giant and they all lived happy ever, yep and there were a bunch of army guys with it to and the ending was so good"

Little Red Riding Hood

Blaze thinks this story "was to funny"
"She skipped and skipped to her grandma's house,they both were eaten by the wolf and the woods man cut them out" he says this laughing.

The Princess and the Toad

Blaze did not like this story, although he scored very well on the assessment test. He did not want to do the optional activities or the arts and crafts that go along with it.

(Mom's note) This presented us with the perfect time to reflect on the word "Gay" and how it means to be "happy" and in this day and age also to be with someone in a relationship of the same sex and how neat the word means happy and as long as people are happy that is all that matters! Blaze says "I love my family members that are gay, also the ones that like army guys and playing video games" "Im not gay but everyone would love me if I was"
